United Lands began its history in Canada as the subsidiary of a British company that was granted 20 thousand acres of land in Newfoundland in return for its contribution to laying the first Trans-Atlantic Cable to Canada.
In Ontario, the company rose to prominence in the 1950s with the development of several thousand acres of commercial and residential real estate in Mississauga.
